AMG unveiled the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 55, a highly exclusive race car. Only five race cars of the special series will be hand-built at the Affalterbach race car factory. Aside from its limitations, the GT3 has unique technical characteristics and numerous specific equipment features, making it a sought-after collector's item, from the striking edition design to high-quality visible carbon elements to the optimized engine performance. Furthermore, the limited edition includes an exclusive IWC timepiece with an engraved chassis number.

"We are motivated by motorsport." For the past 55 years, the words of AMG founder Hans Werner Aufrecht have served as a rallying cry for the Affalterbach-based performance and sports car manufacturer. The race track achievements over the last five decades have been numerous and legendary, ranging from the sensational class win of the Mercedes-Benz 300 SEL 6.8 AMG in the 24 Hours of Spa in 1971 to the historic 1-2 by the Mercedes-AMG GT3 this year's running of the same race. Mercedes-AMG presents its current GT3 Customer Racing car in a strictly limited Edition 55 as a tribute to its rich motorsport heritage.

The Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 55 race car is not FIA homologated and thus has more engine power: the optimized AMG 6.3 liter V8 engine produces 650 hp, around 100 hp more than the FIA version. Appropriately, the Inconel performance exhaust system does not include a silencer, resulting in an even more distinctive sound pattern.

The paint and configuration of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 55 race car are also highly exclusive: its exceptional finish in alpine grey with red accents perfectly completes the matte finish of the visible carbon aero components (front diffuser, rear diffuser, rear wing including end plates, flicks, radiator grille, side skirts). The Affalterbach factory crest has been painted on the slick-shod special edition's doors. In addition to the AMG logo, the rear wing bears the 55th-anniversary logo.

The Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 55 features premier details in the functional racing cockpit. The anniversary symbol is embroidered into the seat, and plaques with the inscription "Edition 55 - 1 OF 5" can be found on the center console and the carbon seat. The matte Anthracite metallic interior is distinguished by high-quality visible carbon elements that harmoniously blend in, from the door sills, door covers, and center console to the dashboard. Seat belts with silver accents are another eye-catching feature in the interior.

The Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 55's cockpit features a Data Display Unit (DDU) of the latest generation as a technical highlight. The Data Display Unit 11 has a high-resolution graphic display that displays essential information such as speed, engine acceleration, running temperatures, lap duration, gear and shift indication, and other information.

In addition to the numerous special equipment features, the exclusive AMG GT3 includes a custom-made and specially designed car cover. Another highlight comes from Mercedes-AMG collaboration partner IWC Schaffhausen: the Swiss luxury watchmaker has created a limited Pilot's Watch Chronograph Edition "AMG" exclusively for the car's launch. The chassis number of the corresponding race car is engraved on the back of the grade 5 titanium watch case. A black textile strap is also included with the box.

The Mercedes-AMG GT3 Edition 55 race car is priced at 625,000 euros (without taxes).
